Daffodil Season!

You just have to love Spring. Here's a few taken in my back garden of some daffodils. I used the Macro setting on my camera (f 2.8) with an automatic shutter speed to balance it out. Just look at the colours! Two of the photos are nearly the same, but I edited the second one. Any preferences?

January Snow 2010

Blue sky, snow on the ground, the perfect photo op! Myself and my nextdoor neighbour, Ruth, went on a bit of a walk around where I live and took some gorgeous photos :) The landscapes were stunning! And thank you Ruth for letting me borrow your Nikon D700 which I absolutley love by the way! Here are a few of my favourites, the one of the berries was actually taken by my phone camera - Nokia XpressMusic 5800, a 3.2 megapixel camera with surprisingly good results. Also, one taken by Ruth of me with use of backlight :)

Birds and Flowers

These are a bunch of my favourite photos taken in the summer of 2009. The ones of the blue tit in my garden was very hard to capture. My FujiFilm struggles with fast shutter speeds, so I had to settle for 1/60 I think. Either way, it was a miracle that there was no blur. What I love about these photos are the vibrant colours and the composition. The texture of flowers really fascinates me as well. Believe it or not, all the flower photos were taken of one bouquet that my mum got. I think I took about 40 photos in total.

Hm, my favourite? The orange flower at the top. I was really surprised at how the photo came out.

Five Cretan Holidays Later...

Just looked through all my files and thought that I had to put pictures of Crete on my blog. My family and I have been to the same hotel five times in a row and have made great friends there. Such a beautiful place in my opinion; blue clear water with views to die for!

Nine Years Old, One of My First Photography Attempts :)

So here's my first lot of photos to publish on my blog. They may be bad quality due to the old little digital camera they were taken on, but I hope you like them. They were taken on Pevensey beach on a random November inset day with my family and my two lovely schnauzers. Yes, verrry cold! But surprisingly nice weather :) No hope of a sun tan though...
I've picked the three best pictures, in my opinion, as the others where either blurry, or they just didn't look right. So, these photos where taken when I was 9, 6 years ago, and this was when I first started to think of photography as a hobby. To be honest, I've only realised the composition of these photos were good a couple of months ago; I didn't recognize it back then :) Both of these photos can definitely be improved, but bare in mind that I was only 9 and hadn't learnt anything about photography.
